- Words of Koine Greek such as Greek: κράββατος (krábbatos, "bed").
- Words of Late Antiquity and Atticist words of Byzantine literature, such as Greek: ἀθεμιτογαμία (athemitogamíā, "unlawful marriage").
- Names, such as Greek: Αγησίλαος (Agēsílaos, "Agesilaus") and Greek: Σωκράτης (Sōkrátēs, "Socrates").
- Hellenized Latin and Hebrew names, such as Greek: Ἰουστινιανός (Justinian), Greek: Αὐρήλιος (Aurelius) and Greek: Ἰωσήφ (Joseph).
- Words that have remained unchanged throughout the history of the Greek language such as Greek: θάλασσα (thálassa, "sea") and Greek: ἄνθρωπος (ánthrōpos, "man"). Their meaning may be the same.
